Probate on Real Estate in Florida

Does anyone have any actual experience inheriting a home in Florida, and the procedure to either transfer it into their own name, or just sell it.

It would appear that all real estate over ~~ $100k is required to go through probate and the probate cost seems to be 3% of the market price of the home.

I would be grateful to learn of personal experiences, especially how much it cost.

Probate gives the executor of the estate the rights to sign for the deceased in money matters--including signing the real estate to a new buyer.

You can shop attorneys for the best deal on the probate proceedings, however. Hopefully the rest of the estate is simple and easy to go through probate.

The last living one in a family will have to go through probate. When my father died, we just transferred the real estate to my mother as a right of survivorship. Upon her passing, it was hello judge.

I believe if the property is held in a living trust, it is not subject to probate.
