Silly Valley current home value = $1.6M
Property tax on indexed 1989 value plus special assessments = $9,100
HO insurance = $1,100. Expecting a big increase this year for wildfire risk. Deductible was $2k, might have gone up.
Skipped the EQ insurance, not convinced the money will be there.

Home that I just sold last week:
Market Value $300k, Insurance $770, Prop Tax $466

Home that I am buying (close in a few days):
Market Value $465k, Insurance $960, Prop Tax $854

Both are on a few acres in Alabama near Lake Martin. The land value of the home I'm buying is approx $100k so the insured amount is around $365k.

I live in a suburb of Kansas City, on the Missouri side. House worth about $310,000, property taxes $5,200, homeowners insurance $2,400. We're in Tornado Alley so that bumps it up a bit.

Also live in this area -

$340k ish value
$4,500 property tax
$2200 homeowners ($1k deduct) - though I did get $15k roof and gutters 100% replaced due to hail storm this year

Southern Maine - Ocean front community - 1 mile from ocean

$700,000 +/- Market Value
Homeowner's Ins $950. $6,000 deductible
Property Taxes $7,500

Here in MO

Home Value: 225k
Property Taxes: 2.2k
Homeowners Insurance: $900

Most years my income is low so I pay very little income taxes.

Property value (rounded to nearest thousand):
Zillow $336,000
Realtor.com $331,000
Tax assessor $240,000

Property tax with homestead exemption:
$1,956

Insurance:
Homeowners $480
Wind and Hail (=hurricane, state funded) $1,980
Flood (Zone X) $516
TOTAL of these three: $2,976

The insurance rates here are the disadvantage to living inside the New Orleans soupbowl. I don't care. This is my home and there is no place else I'd rather live. Not gonna budge.

Orange County, California

Home Value (Zillow) 1,060,000
Property Tax = $6,480 (Thanks prop 13)
Homeowners Ins. = $1,551 (Doubled in the last ten years)
Earthquake = $624 (with 25% deductible)

Wow. I assume you purchased your place for under $300k. What year did you buy?
1979 for 105k. It goes up 2% + additional bond measures every year. We pass them all

Frankly I'd rather be taxed on income than home value because that seems more equitable to me. My home's value is really only relevant when I go to sell

Southern suburb of Chicago, Crook, er, I mean Cook county

Home Value: $230,000
Property Taxes: $8682
Home Owners Insurance: $1169

SF Bay Area, CA

Value: $1.7M (bought for $300k 26 years ago) - it's ridiculous. 3 bed/2 bath, 1500 square foot ranch

North Texas

Home 450K
Insurance 1800 per year
Property Tax Capped at 8500 vs 10,500
Sales Tax 8.25

Just outside of Nashville. 25 acres, zoned for subdivision, 40 year old, 4200 square foot house.

Value? Probably 800k-1mill.

Taxes 1950
Insurance (537k replacement cost, 500k liability, 2500 deductible) is 1650

Excess policy allows the low liability amount.

Live in NE Florida:
Assessed Home Value: $235,612
Estimated Home Value: $515,000
Property Taxes: $3,515
Yearly Homeowners Insurance: $1,495

My homeowner's policy excludes land value and ignores market value. It's based on rebuild cost estimate which is in turn based on square footage, number of bathrooms, finishes, etc. Plus how far away the nearest hydrant and fire department station is (both pretty close in my case).
+1

My ho policy works the same way.

NH. No income tax or sales tax here.

Property tax is $5000 for house only. HOA owns the land.

Homeowners insurance is $540. New construction 1100 square foot home is one year old. Paid $275,000 for it.

We don’t live by the coast. We live up high within walking distance of the big lake boardwalk but no where close to it that there could be any water problems whatsoever.
