Has anyone utilized a 'consultant' to negotiate a lower billing on hospital charges? Last year we used a Co-Pay consultant who charges a 30% fee against any bill reductions they were able to negotiate. Ultimately the consultant saved us near $5k in charges and subsequently we paid them about $1600.
Any thoughts if the$1600 paid to the consultant is a valid medical deduction?
