According to this article, many boomers are on track for retirement as planned. The article also says that the oft cited worst case scenario that people will have to keep working until their 70's is just not happening. Instead, some people are deferring retirement from 62 to 65, but most people are not going very far past 65. Essentially, people just stop working when they are entitled to full social security benefits, and they "make the numbers work."
