Six bucks or less for the effort of filing the claim, and knowing that my personal information is now in a system somewhere with unknown security safeguards, and might even be made part of the public record? No thanks.

I don't remember getting the phone call, so I didn't want to submit my info.

You don't remember every phone call you got from 2009-> 2014

I checked, and 1 of our numbers was on the list, the other number was not on the list, so it does seem like they are comparing your number to a real listing of numbers dialed.
Otherwise every number would qualify.

I'll be able to buy a couple of coffee's at McD's by the time the lawyer gets their multi-million dollar fee.

Yes, I would remember a call offering me a cruise. I don't get many phone calls.

My cell was on it ... the other 3 numbers we have were not. Reminds me of the airline price fixing scam in the early 90's. Spent a hour documenting all the biz travel for a class action suit ... only to be awarded airline COUPONS. Arg!

Can't wait for my Carnival Cruise COUPONS!

We get about 5 calls per day, we let them leave messages on the answering machine.

How do you not get even 1 phone call per day ? , do you use a blocker of some type?

I only have a cellphone. I go for many days without a call. T-Mobile does some spam call blocking a feature which started this year, but even years ago I got very few calls.

Update of a long dormant thread:

Two+ years later, the class action settlement has been finalized. It should come as no surprise that the "$300 per call" potential award turned out to be significantly less:

Quote:
...class members who submitted timely claims will receive their pro rata share of the settlement fund, which amounts to an average of $22.17 per
claim.

Thanks for the update, but dammit...I read the first 15 comments before I realized that the OP was from over two years ago.

I've never done that myself. Nope, never...

Three years after starting this thread I received a settlement check. While it wasn't the hyped up $300 amount, it was more than the earlier report of $22.

Probably the only time in my life I'll get any monetary compensation for the thousand of spam calls to my phone.

Probably. These class actions may persuade the offending parties to change their behavior but the primary result is collection of legal fees and payment to class members is just a by product. Congrats!

The primary result of a class action frequently is a change in behavior by the defendant. Because the impact to each individual is small, it is not feasible for individuals to achieve this.

Nice amount.
The biggest I ever got was around $60 from the satellite radio company, that hounded me to subscribe. It was very annoying as I paid 10 cents every time they phoned.

Hoping I get something out of this one.

I recently got a settlement check for $8.34. I don't even remember what is was for.

But it made me think of what happened to that $300 spam settlement.

Now I know. Looking forward to my $50 bucks.

Thanks for the follow up. Time to party. Have some champagne tomorrow morning! Leave out the death peaches, though.

I received the princely amount of $8.34 - now planning where to invest it. Perhaps in a nice IPA?

Same here. Strange thing is that it was for the claim linked to my wife's cell phone number. We (I) also filed a claim under our landline, which gets way more robo-calls, but we haven't received a check for that yet (maybe TWO IPAs).
