Spouse has Megacorp monthly pension payments. Never was option for lump sum.

If one doesn't need right now the monthly payments, can the sum of monthly payments be rolled over to IRA each year ?

I don't think so, but wanted to confirm.

Thanks !

For your spouse to contribute to an IRA, either you or he/she must have earned income (such as from a W-2 or 1099 Misc). Then the contributions are limited to $5500 ($6500 if 50 or older) or the amount of earned income, whichever is less.

Short answer: no, the sum of the monthly pension cannot be contributed to an IRA
