Yep, Mr. "Buckets of Money" has (at least temporarily) had his fraud conviction "wiped off the books".

The SCOTUS decision has nothing to do with the details of the case, rather they determined that the judge himself had not been properly installed. It was ruled that all Administrative Law Judges are "officers" and are therefore subject to being appointed by higher levels of the government, rather than the civil-service way they had been.

All the SEC judges, including Lucia's, have now been properly appointed. However, SCOTUS specifically prohibited Lucia's from hearing his case again, should it be re-tried.

Talk about a technicality!

The rules of law:
Argue the facts
If you can't argue the facts, argue the law.
If you can't argue either one, argue the process.

A courtroom is the last place to find the truth.

If you get away from his bucket strategy, he is actually interesting to listen to. Far more than Dave Ramsey.

Same here....

You must not have a business/personal finance oriented radio network in your market. He’s been in Colorado for years. He’s actually interesting to listen to. He promotes the bucket strategy and that’s what got him in trouble. He takes questions from listeners and I have learned a few things over the years. Way better than Suzy Orman or Dave Ramsey.

I haven’t heard of him and would not have, absent the awareness from the OP that Lucia/his lawyers took the time of our Supreme Court. I won’t be lending an ear.

I really enjoyed his program. I even called in once. It was not carried in many markets but it was a mainstay in the ones that did carry it. His sidekicks were what made the show better in many respects. One guy was a tax specialist and I forget the other guys specialty. I even drove 150 miles to one of his live shows and that's when the red flags came out. At the live show he pushed the unlisted REITS pretty hard. Actually I thought the REITS was what got him in trouble with the SEC. I never spent a dime on his books but I got a lot of good info and use a personalized bucket strategy today.

Well at least you have an open mind.

We have those networked radio programs, but I never spent any time listening to them.

Ray Lucia and his bucket strategy was much discussed here many years ago, but then he got into trouble, and kind of faded away.
