Social Security Online Service Down?

Anyone else experience trouble logging into the social security benefit estimator? Or even into the website?

I've tried a couple of times over the past two weeks and both times gotten an error message:

"Sorry we are down, you can't access that service at this time."

It's odd that I can't log in AT ALL. I looked on the forum and didn't see any mention of it in the threads. Also went to an incognito browser to see if it was just a cache issue -- and still no bueno. Can't even log in.

Thanks for any responses!

It was OK yesterday. Today it says they are unavailable. They are entitled to maintenance days too.

Thanks -- glad to hear that they were up yesterday. It was probably just me checking in on the weekends.

Yeah I got an email touting the newly designed website a week ago. I don’t usually click on links in emails but somehow I went to the site and it was out of service. I tried again just now and got the same error notice.

I got the error several times during the past few months. It turned out to be due to my Firefox browser. After updating the browser it's ok, and I learned that by using other browsers to login.

I just logged into DWs SS account. Perhaps the system updates are being phased in.

I was getting the same message in recent days when I tried to log on from my Chromebook. I just tried logging on from a PC using Firefox, and I logged on successfully. I logged out and tried logging on from my Chromebook, and it still fails. I think that xlf11's browser comment is the explanation.

Could be their email prompted millions of people to try to log in at once. We all know how that goes. I couldn't get in either.

I logged in today. I have noticed it has been very slow lately.

Weekends were prime time to do maintenance on most systems I worked on. No employees using it, and generally less customers as well.
