Social Security spousal benefit

I started my benefit at age 62, and DH began taking a spousal benefit off mine when he reached FRA.

When he reaches age 70, will we have to file for his full benefit, or will the SS Gods automatically know to flip that switch?

He will need to apply for his own retirement benefit.

Ah, sadly my DW and I are in reverse. She was born before Jan 1954, and I was born after by several years (I will turn 62 soon). She started SS at 65. This situation could not be applied by us.

Absolutely because he was born before 1954 and I had already filed for mine at age 62. And I'm pretty sure it's OK since we've been collecting our benefits in this form for 2+ years.
