SS widower question
??... Husband earns 10k more SS than his wife's SS. Husband dies. Does the wife get the Husbands higher SS amount? On the SS site, it only talks about the surviving spouse getting the higher deceased spouse's benefit when benefits are recieved prior to FRA. Is it the same if the deceased spouse started receiving benefits at FRA? TIA

When SS made significant changes in 2016, one of those changes was the survivor will always (and automatically) receive the greater amount/benefit.
