I had rounded up to the next dollar and got that message. Then I submitted just the whole dollar amount for AGI and taxes paid without rounding and it worked

Also, when you give the IRS permission to take a direct debit from your account, that is not the same as giving them permission to put a direct deposit into your account. In order to get a direct deposit of the stimulus check, you have to have given permission for a direct deposit which you can do via a tax return that has a refund, or by receiving SS, or by using the special website that's not yet operational. I suspect there's a banking regulation or federal law that requires this since employers also require explicit permission to setup direct deposits, but I haven't gone searching for it.

We're not desperate for the money. I'm just curious as to why a refund would be required vs. having to pay a balance due. Either way, the IRS has our bank account information. I'll check the IRS site when it's functional.

Like many who have posted, I have had only ACH debits by the IRS for at least the last 3 years.
I went to the website link provided above (and in post #126) which is working as of 0530 EDT. I don't think it was operational yesterday. Anyway when I got in it showed they didn't have my bank acct. info. I verified things using my 2019 Line 8b (AGI) and amount owed. Then I was able to add my bank info. I went back in 30 minutes or so later and here is what it shows now.
Money needed to start small face-mask manufacturing plant and "black market barber shop" in my garage

No checks for us yet..... We only have joint accounts, I wonder if they will use the same one for each of us as we are both eligible (Married Filing Joint).

We always file jointly. Our income was over $150,000 in 2018 (and less than 199,000) but much less in 2019 (retirement year). I filed 2019 about 10 days ago. I'm assuming they used 2018's income and see a pending deposit from the IRS for exactly $1200 today. Any idea how (if they reduce by a percentage over $150,000; the deposit is exactly the amount of a 1 person stimulus? Seems a bit off. I would have expected $2400 (joint filing) times xx%=1954.50 or some such amount. Or will another $1200 be incoming in a day or so (if they used 2019 figures)?

Ours also came up: Payment Status Not Available
I wanted to add our bank account number so they could do a direct deposit instead of a paper check. I'll check back later today.

There will be problems...
We applied 2018 refund to 2019. 2019 was filed about a week ago, and that refund is pending in our bank account.

Initially I got the same error you guys got but instead of going all the way back out, then trying again, I hit the Back button on my browser and then it let me in where I had to provide SSN, DOB, 2019 AGI, and 2019 refund amount before entering bank routing and acct. Took all of 1 minute.
