Nothing yet, but we overpaid so have the 2019 refund applied to 2020 estimated via debit from acc.
Tried to enter info in the website and keep getting error message. Will wait for paper check I guess.

BTW, I filed my 2019 return by paper in March and owed. I wrote them a check, which has been cashed.

I think in your case it's the paper return that's still being processed, which is causing the "Payment Status Not Available." People who filed 2019 electronically are able to use the tool to provide bank info fairly quickly after they file.

I think they’ll fix that known problem, just don’t know when.

Since the law is that they will use 2018 return if you haven't filed 2019, it would seem that the same rule would apply if you have filed 2019 and it just hasn't been processed yet. But who knows? As I said, it's small potatoes. I just have an aversion to illogical systems.

No definitely not as bad as the ACA rollout. But I would like to get our $2,400 sooner rather than later.. A family member lost her job and we plan to give half to her and half to the food bank when we get the $$.

Well, I kept trying to enter my direct deposit information into the IRS site, but it just confused them. Their site couldn't handle the fact that I neither got a refund last year, nor owed money. I tried entering both the "I got a refund" and "I owed money" options, and entering zero for the amount, but ended up with the message that they couldn't currently service my request.
Today, I logged on, to get the message that my check is scheduled to be mailed out on April 24th. I have never, to my knowledge, had a piece of mail go missing, so hopefully this will work out.
I have a plan to inject the money straight back into the economy by spending it on the vet tech who comes to my house twice a week to give my blind kitty sub-q fluids!
PS - according to the table above that FIREd_2015 posted, my check should be going out May 1st, so it looks as if they're ahead of schedule.

More seriously, while I know it's frustrating for the people for whom the tools aren't working; the speed with which this whole process has occurred is pretty amazing. The CARES act was signed on March 27. The IRS had the first batch of money delivered 14 days later, and they developed and published a web application that interacts with data that's kept in some pretty antiquated databases in only 19 days.
While it would have been nice if they had also published the list of user stories that are not yet implemented, having been a government contractor in software development, I'm still astonished that they got any of this done so fast.

cathy, I agree. But I guess I have a problem with the IRS statements from the first few days which painted a false picture that everything was "operating smoothly and effectively" and that media reports to the contrary were "inaccurate." They even published reasons for the error message that were (I believe) intentionally incomplete in order to maintain the positive portrayal. This was happening while millions of people who really need the money (not most of us on this forum) were floundering without any information as to when or if they'd see anything.
So yeah, the speed with which the tool was deployed is admirable and I'm glad they deployed an imperfect tool instead of waiting. But the communication about it's obvious shortcomings should have been much more transparent from the start. The bit about not having all the data in the tool should have been disclosed on Day 1, not Day 4. I refuse to believe they didn't know that information until now. Even now, they are spinning it like an enhancement "to allow more people to use the tool." That's BS. Now is not the time for PR spin. People need clear and actionable information so they can decide whether to pay the rent or save it for next week's baby formula.

Not trying to be argumentative, but I don't think "illogical" is an accurate characterization of the situation. The IRS had two basic choices on how to handle 2019 returns: (1) Set a specific date/time. All returns processed, and in the IRS computer system, before that date/time are counted for all purposes related to stimulus payments. All 2019 returns processed after that date/time are ignored and the IRS defaults to the taxpayer's 2018 return; or (2) continue to process 2019 returns as filed and use them for all purposes related to stimulus payments.
Of course, #1 would have been simpler but obviously would not sit well with people who qualify based on 2019 but not based on 2018. Those people are scrambling to get their returns filed and expect them to be used for purposes of determining eligibility and direct deposit. No doubt #2 is more complicated, but that seems to be the more logical route... including the most people based on the most recent data.
While I've been fairly critical of this process, in fairness, they've said all along that people who filed in 2019 would not be able to use the tool until the return was finished processing, which I think makes more sense than ignoring the return after some arbitrary date/time and then defaulting to 2018.
Unfortunately, you filed by paper and I'm reasonably sure they don't have many employees at work right now processing paper returns. So it's probably going to take quite a while in your case.

The title was put there by the moderators to prevent the further proliferation of threads related to this topic, which were getting out of hand. How would you like to spend your ban time?

I agree with Cathy about the performance of the IRS development team. As to the false promises, place the blame where it likely belongs - at the top. Mnuchin was spinning. The checks on the way, everybody can get a test.

Seems rather odd that the rollout is based on exactly 10k increments throughout the entire range of AGIs. While it’s good to start at lower AGIs, they need to figure out how to get more checks out sooner. The distribution appears to be based on 10k increments rather than capacity to distribute checks.
