Complicated but decent advice IMHO. This kind of slice & dice is discussed extensively at the Vanguards diehard site. ( http://www.diehards.org/ ) DFA has a good fund reputation. If you like this approach go with the Vanguard funds. Just remember that no one can predict future returns, it could be that value and small cap will underperform for a while. But there were several decent portfolio suggestions, but remember the enemy of a good asset allocation may be looking for the perfect AA.
