"The Money Guy Show"

Does anyone else listen to this show? I like the show I'm not sure how sound his advice is like anything it's not for everyone but I do find Brian entertaining and informative, he does lose a little bit of credibility with me because his home isn't paid off but I understand his reasoning.

I heard a couple episodes but he didn’t say anything I didn’t already know and I thought he overemphasized his points so I quit listening.

Pretty much same here. A link might be helpful here. I’m not so sure there’s only one Money Guy show. If it’s Brian Preston with co-host Bo Hanson I’d say excellent for a certain segment though. I don’t think they said anything I vehemently disagreed with. There are hundreds of financial infotainment programs including radio, web, and podcast out there and a half dozen or so that I listen to regularly. It’s great to listen while driving or doing chores. Recently I stumbled onto the Retirement and IRA Show(Jim Saulnier and Chris Stein).

I googled them and found a podcast duo with ~5600 twitter followers, all of which looks like a front for their FA services. pass.

I've listened to some of their podcasts. Found they gave information that I found reasonable. Found other podcasts that focused more on my specific interests so I tend to listen to them more. The Retirement and IRA Show (https://www.theretirementandirashow....egory/podcast/) is the one I listen to the most. The DoughRoller Money Podcast (https://www.doughroller.net/) is probably the one I've listened to the most after that one. They also have excellent website resources on the Doughroller site.

I have watched their U tube stuff and find them pretty informative and in agreement with most of the academic world on investing and paying down debt. You could do much worse than their show.

It looks like dough roller has gone silent. Nothing new for 2021. I’m just now checking it out.

I binge watch youtube occasionally and finance related videos come up in my recommended list. The money guy has come up a few times and I've watched a couple of their videos. Nothing I disagree with but they're not a favorite for me. If I want to watch a financial/investing topic, I tend to favor Josh at Heritage Wealth - https://www.youtube.com/c/HeritageWealthPlanning/videos and Dustin at Jazz wealth - https://www.youtube.com/c/Jazzwealth/videos

A big part of the reason I like those two is that they both use Right Capital software and often do videos of case studies using the software. I use the software by paying a one time $150 fee, so seeing a pro use it is helpful.

To be really honest though, I have learned more for the time spent reading here and at bogleheads.

I watch The Money Guy episodes on YouTube regularly:
https://www.youtube.com/user/MoneyGuyShow

Sure, there are things that may or may not apply to my situation, but that's typical of any show that tries to appeal to a mass audience. Occasionally I'll learn something new, but it's mostly for entertainment. Overall I like their style and are pleasant to listen to.

Like BadaBing, I watch a lot of finance related videos on YouTube, including the ones mentioned. I even subscribe to Dave Ramsey, even though I haven't had debt in decades, and don't care for his style. Still, occasionally something will catch my interest, and it's better than cat videos.

I liked Chris Hogan better, he focused more on retirement and had a better personality. Unfortunately, he had some personal marital issues and was fired from the Ramsey organization.

The money guy on YouTube rescued me from the rabbit hole I fell down when someone here asked about velocity banking and I used YouTube for research. There’s some real skanky videos out there by folks with no credentials and thousands of subscribers. They all think everything we believe in on this forum is BS.

I listen to Brian and Bo on the Money Guy Show frequently. I download the shows to my mp3 player and listen to them while out on walks. They give good solid information in an easy conversational way. Sure; I know a lot of it already but there are occasional nuggets of very meaningful wisdom that pop up from time to time and these keep me on board. For anyone new to investing I think they would be a great resource.

I find them annoying. I especially did not like a few of the videos they made about the FIRE movement. They seemed to be talking people out of retiring early rather than encouraging it. I find they often say a lot without saying much. Have listened to them quite a bit, enough to know I'm not a fan. Started deleting any prompts to watch their videos on you tube.

I think that's an art form, I can answer some of their questions in a sentence or 2 they can ramble on for 10-15 minutes.
