You would think the jerks would allow you to authenticate to add a password with the alleged "forever" pin they gave you, but no.
I know, the pin process was working just fine. They had to "improve" the system which ends up just jerking people around.

I was watching on youtube to see if anyone found a good method. There's one of a US Senator who tried to get credit frozen but got the stonewall too. One of the questions was "what is your current balance" (of an account). Who would know that? Balances always fluctuate. (Like how many grains of salt in a salt shaker? Must be exact number to pass).

Same here only two weeks ago. And you can unfreeze it for a specific length of time so you don't have to back online later to refreeze it.

I get notifications of any activity on any of my cards, but I don't think I get notifications of inquiries. How did you set that up, or do you have to manually check?

As a follow up. I did receive a postcard from Equifax saying that my credit is unfrozen. So if can't get online access, snail mail does work for freezing/unfreezing.

Now why the info didn't work to prove my ID in the past to reset my online account with them is still a mystery .
