So as I wait to hear back from Uncle Sam on a negotiated settlement, I've been looking at some stocks to invest in. If it's accepted, my new questions are:

. Looking at Warren Buffet's portfolio for dividend paying stocks to invest in.

1. Should I use my $30,000 HELOC, 5.5%, 10yrs left and $12,000 available to invest $1-2k in a few shares of stock with good dividend payout.

2. Should I look at mutual funds instead?

3. Currently with Scottrade, should I consider Vanguard, Fidelity, or another brokerage firm?

I currently have a few penny stocks. (Teaching myself on investing). One oh those stocks have gone down from .025 to .004. I currently have 9258 shares total. The stock has an average trade around .035 which would gross $324 or at a new gain of $ 0.30 it would gross $2777. My starting cost $73. Not bad in either scenarios.

My goal is to continue generating cashflow from my 2 rental properties, pick up a 3rd and stocks. I have no 401k. My VA compensation is not taxable.
