This is likely true. But I believe the BBQ and the Mexican and Tex-Mex makes up for it.

12k+ per year on 3/4 of an acre. Yay Jersey.

Our local paper frequently has articles and letters to the editor on the subject. Many people are being forced to move out of town. It's becoming a place that only the rich can afford to live in.

I don't know what Jersey thinks they are doing. I went into shock when I realized that my neighbors in Jersey were paying property taxes for a home comparable to my own at rates exceeding my mortgage payments in MD. Of couse my own property taxes are increasing yearly but last year were only $2500 compared to $10-12K in Jersey. Can't the people in Jersey do something or are they satisfied with this?

That's how NJ gets the riff-raff to move to MD.
