Well, there goes our 5 year plan for FIRE. DW just lost her job in a company buyout so it looks like our plans and dreams for RE will have to be delayed even longer.

Anyway, her former company advises that she must roll over her 401K. I am looking for suggestions on where we might put this money.

Right now she has and IRA with Vanguard that looks like this:
Wellington VWELX 17%
Equity Income VEIPX 23% This is a R/O IRA
Growth & Income VQNPX 20% This is a R/O IRA
500 Index VFINX 22% This is a R/O IRA
Windsor II VWNFX 18%

It probably doesn't make any difference but the three accounts that are R/O are from a previous 401K that had to be moved. The other two accounts are IRA funded by DW with after tax $.

Should we add to any of these existing accounts? Can you recommend something else? Do you think anything should be rebalanced at this time in the accounts above?

We expect that we would not start drawing on these IRA funds for at least 6 years.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Rollover to Vanguard and fill-out/sustain your overall asset allocation.

Many folks would have some international funds, some small cap funds and maybe some specific fixed income funds as part of their asset allocation. Maybe you have these, but aren't listing them?

You need to build out your asset allocation a little. The easiest thing to do is roll over to Vanguard, since you have accounts there already.

I always keep some small cap around, particularly value stocks...........

Tom, you have alot of overlap with your funds. You are invested 100% in US Large Cap companies (with a value tilt). With the exception of Wellington you have no bonds at all. You have no small cap exposure, very little mid caps, and no International. If that is your strategy, that's fine. If not, until you decide on you asset allocation , roll over into Vanguard, but keep it in a MM account until you come up with a plan. Vanguard has a good place to start if you need help creating your investment plan - click HERE

Best of luck!

Since this is tax advantaged accounts, why not go for one of the Target retirement plans in Vanguard (or if you prefer more active management, TRowe)?

If you don't want to be very active in picking assets, I'd dump all the funds and just switch them all over to the target fund date of your choosing.
