Yet another Great Vanguard Service Experience

Yesterday at approximately 2:45 EST I initiated a sell order and transfer of a mid 5 figure sum to my local credit union. The funds were in my CU by 11:15 this morning. Not too bad.

Chase has been offering instant ACH (out) for the better part of this year. It is awesome. You can send up to $5000 and it's in your destination bank account within 10 seconds. I've used it a few times and it works extremely well.

With all due respect I wouldn't call this a great experience. It's what I expect with Vanguard, Fidelity etc. Next day to the bank and instant coming into my brokerage from my bank.

When I issue a bank transfer from Vanguard the funds are typically in my account the next day (assuming it is a business day). Has been this way for years. Agree with foxfire - this isn't exactly stellar when compared to other parts of the developed world. When I lived in Belgium (15+ years ago) bank transfers were close to real time.

When I transfer Country to Country, I can send up to $2,500 and have it show up in the USA bank within 45 minutes !

Sounds about right from my experience, but YMMV.
