2 player game app?

My SIL and I have played almost 2,000 scrabble games on Words With Friends for years. We’re tired of the pop ups and in-app purchase tricks. I realize they have to make money somehow, but I would pay a small subscription fee rather than be bombarded with offers to buy tokens and trophies. WWF doesn’t offer that AFAIK. Are there any recommendations for a fun game for online players, free or fee that lets you just play?

Microsoft has one called Wordament. It's gotten bloated like everything else from MSFT, but they've made the ads less in-your-face than previously.

Wordament is a multiplayer word-finding game. Word-finding isn't much of an intellectual exercise, but it's kind of fun when it's timed and you're competing against a couple hundred other people.

Oh, and I just realized I need to try Fortnite on android.

I like Wordfeud. There is a small one-time fee to get rid of the ads. It's a lot like Scrabble.

Wordfeud is a good alternative to Words with Friends. I bought a copy of Words with Friends years ago, but it doesn’t avoid the constant gamification they keep adding to the app.

I asked my teenage daughter, and she came back with Among Us, Minecraft, and Bloons.

I gave up on Words with Friends because their ads were so intrusive. I’ll check out some of the suggestions here.

I think they do but it's $10/month. Which is absurd
