A Lazy Sunday In Florida (Photos)

All:

They re-opened the MarineLand dolphinarium in St. Augustine. It was free to get in on Sunday, so frugal me went along with my Camera. For all you folks north of the sun check out the colour of the sky.

Those are some excellent pictures, particularly the dolphin in mid-air. What kind of camera and lens do you use?

Thank you all for your comments. Occasionally you get a gem of a photo. The Arial Dolphin is one of those. The Camera is a Digital Canon 10D 6.x Mega Pixels (MP). The Lens is just a 28 - 135 zoom which I use as a standard lens. The mid air arial was a very lucky shot. I actually cut it out of a larger picture to get rid of the unwanted spectators and building.

At one time I was thinking of upgrading to a 20D or 1DS but honestly this camera is ample for my needs. Any more than 6 MP takes up too much space for the added quality. In my case at least. However, the lens interchangability over your standard digital camera is priceless.

Here is the complete photo (The first One) and some failures so you can see the luck.

Thanks for the information. We've been thinking about the Canon EOS family when we decide to upgrade from our 3MP autofocus. Those pictures might have convinced me.

All they need is some brulee or a nice crepe on their heads!

Re: A Lazy Sunday In Florida (Photos)

Our dog spent most of his time guarding us from dolphins. He doesn't seem to get excited amout anything else, but dolphins made him nuts.

Glad to see that Marineland open, by the way -- I went past there perhaps a dozen times (on the Intracoastal Waterway side) while it was closed, and wondered what was going to become of it.
