Now in ER, I find myself mostly wanting to spend time in Japan and can afford to be there quite comfortably.
This however is a problem as Japan doesn't have a retirement visa and I do not want to;
- Move my investments to their stock market
- Marry a Japanese woman
- Take on a job in Japan
Since I do not want to do any of those, it seems my visa options are limited.
They do offer a 6-24 month cultural activities visa for someone attending school or doing non paid cultural work. Since I do this kind of work in other regions, I am hoping this will help me make a case to their immigration division.
I could also put all of the money required to cover the rents for the stay into a Japanese bank (to also protect against currency fluctuations)
Anyone here staying in Japan? It seems I need a long stay visa to rent an apartment and my own guarantor.
Any advisories or info appreciated
