Long term Rentals agencies?

It will soon be that time to start spending time in different areas (NC, SC, TN, FL) to see if we like them more than our current location. Besides AIRbnb, can anyone recommend other agencies that handle long term rentals ?
Someone had mentioned to me a company that travelling nurses use, but I can’t think of it ATM.

We use VRBO often. I’m not sure, but Booking.com may also have longer term rentals. Craigslist is also popular, but I wouldn’t use it unless I could physically see the property and verify it’s ownership before renting.
