Here are some old photos taken on film (K64) from a trip to Italy in 2003. These photos were taken in Civita di Bagnoregio. Since they are from scanned film the quality is not up to today's standards.

Great photos everyone, thanks for sharing them. I am always checking the Photographers Corner and more to retirement then money to see and learn about.

Hiked in yesterday morning to check on golden eagle chick. Changing very much in 3 days now. It is 6 and half weeks old and at 10 weeks they are ready to take to the skies.

Very nice! You may think that the quality isn’t up to today’s standards. Maybe you’re right, but there is a patina in your stone work photos that is tough to get in digital.

Today was closeup day on the hiking trail. A northern water snake and blue heron.

Was just concluding my dock/chardonnay sunset watch tonight, wandering back up the yard in the dusk, looking at the landscaping and plotting the next projects.... when I see a dark shadow over by the kayak launch area, and think "did I leave something there?"

We have had 3 "quill" incidents with our two dogs, one that cost in excess of $3k, 2 surgeries and some very unpleasant experiences. These guys are not to be messed with. Saw one in daylight hours here a few weeks ago, wander into the back yard, then exit quickly to the front, cross the street, and go in the conservation land. This guy was bigger. When I got close, he "flared" his quills and then trotted away.

All the more reason to "escort" our two outside at dusk hours, one of which is very prey driven and although she still has surgery scars on her head, would not hesitate to give chase.

Yeah, they are nothing to mess with that is for sure. I know a guy that his dog tore into one on a country walk. The dog was a mess and had many surgeries. I believe it even broke a hip from the ordeal some how. The dog was in fight mood so it got ugly fast. I have seen many dogs with quills all over their face through the years.

Ours got a facefull, had them removed under anethesia. Then 5 weeks later started getting swelling in the face/head. A quill fragment had broken off and was "traveling" through her head, behind her eye, then abscessed in the top of her head. They cannot be detected on xRay.

Our other dog got a facefull in another incident. 2 week later I reached down to pet him and got stabbed by a fragment protruding out of his muzzle, pointy side out! Could not believe how hard I had to pull to get it out of the very thin layer of skin on my finger.

Nasty!

^ very sorry to hear that. It is nasty and if needles go in eye ball that is really bad.

Starved Rock State Park, Illinois. This is normally part of the hiking trail.But it looks like a muddy waterfall during a recent deluge.

Thanks - I went out with my point and shoot due to rain. I took it handheld at 1/5 second so there is a little shake. The water was muddy - explains the water color. Lots of farm fields drain into these canyons so the water is seldom clear during floods.
