These days the only people using the city's big park are exercising. No one is feeding the swans, peacocks, and ducks. The city removed the bird food pellet vending machine. These 2 came directly to me when I stopped on the edge of the pond to photograph the reflections. Taken with a Pixel 3a.

I spent this past Dec and Jan in California, returning to my home state for the first time since 2008.

The Oakland Museum of California has a large Burning Man exhibit. This piece was created to cast shadows in a tent. A BIG tent.

Taken shortly before the attack of the COVIDs. I was trying out a new (to me) Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 paired with my Nikon D700. This lens has been on my wishlist for a few years. FB_IMG_1586131435211.jpegFB_IMG_1586131514959.jpegFB_IMG_1586131508596.jpeg

Anyone here vacillating over the new upcoming Canon EOS R5? I am still procrastinating. I thought the EOS-R was a contender until I read about it in a little more depth.

There are have been some silly rumours about pricing, if the body is under $3,500 I probably will go for it.

Any others here like it?

The EOS-R sounds very interesting. I used to have a 5DII and enjoyed the full frame sensor. But will it require new lenses? That is the expensive part of buying a new system. When I switched over to the Olympus EM1 and replaced all of my Canon equipment it was very expensive. But it's only money....

There will be adapters to use L lenses but of course the camera companies would like to sell you new lenses.

I went with the Nikon Z7 a couple of years ago so maybe in a couple more I will look around again.

Forgive this ignorant question, which certainly has been asked and answered an infinite number of times already: what is the procedure for posting pictures?

It asks for a URL, so my understanding is that photos must first be posted on a site such as Google Photos.

Is there some other way?

There is an easier way. Click on "go advanced" at the bottom of the box you're writing in. Under the box there is a button that says "Manage Attachments" and that gets you to the screen where you can navigate to the image file on your computer you want to post. This applies to still photos only. Videos have to be hosted elsewhere such as youtube, vimeo, etc.

Some shots of a C-17 doing go-rounds earlier today. The crews have to do a specified number of landings to maintain currency. In the file names I typed an extra "1" in the block for file name. Oops.

Here is a short video of South Florida from earlier in the year just before all the madness started. I just finished the editing this past weekend. It was shot with a Lumix G9 and Canon EF 70-200mm F/4L, Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8 Art, Lumix 12-60mm lenses.
