Today's mission is to build a landing for an office trailer. Right up my alley

Venturer--what a little cutie!
Today repotted the last of my summer flowers.
85 degrees now, but weather app just popped up a warning for severe thunderstorms and rain up to an inch this afternoon!! Not sure my new seedlings will survive that, but not going to unpot them now.
UGH, this weather!

I have the 85 here too, and will wait a while to saw up and build that landing. I would prefer working late in the evening as it cools down.

Finished planted the garden in town. Then decided to pack in and check on the eagle to see if I could get a few pictures. Looks like one eaglet for sure. The one picture with mom on nest just to her left you can see a rabbit or prairie dog that she bring to nest to feed the little one.
I then went back to ranch and finished up gardening there and dug in a water trough so I can fill it and water plants from it.

It's my birthday and I'm having 10 for dinner. In the middle of making dessert (brownies, apple cookies, snickerdoodles to go with loaded affogattos & make your own sundaes) a sister calls to vent that I don't have extra time today. Have 4 loads of laundry b4 getting the 17F from school. Thankfully I've only got a few insanely busy days a year

I was taking an easy day, but I have been exhausted watching my nephew's progress on a cross-state mountain bike race.

Wow!!! That’s one heck of a mtn bike race. The killer on these endurance races is the climbing. Nephews race has both a very long distance and massive amount of climbing.

that happens to be his favorite thing. He used to ride to work every day a good distance, and when he left that job and started working from home, he would go out in the afternoon and look for some brutal climbs and just go at it.
He is in the front 1/3rd right now and doing well.
He started 12 hours ago and has gone 103 miles and 13,000 feet of elevation. I don't know how accurate the application is.

Hiked early in the morning in the high country. Got warm fast and the smokey conditions were more than I wanted so cut it somewhat short. I was up looking for horns but found nothing.
Cam home eat lunch and worked in garden and took a bike. Kids called said would stop by late afternoon after they left DIL family ranch. Had a nice supper with them and got to see the granddaughters which is always a blessing.

Went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Park closed but we got a view via a drive on a forestry road over the occasional snow bank.
Rescued some tourists who got stuck in one of them.
A great adventure.

Loaded up the pickup truck with some R/C airplanes and gear and went flying for a good chunk of the day and met up with half a dozen other retirees. A crow started chasing one of my airplanes, but he didn't like it when I did an Immelmann turn, which reverses direction and placed the airplane above the crow. Birds don't like it when another bird (or model airplanes) are above them because it puts them in a vulnerable position.
The crow left the area quickly.
There were no other hostile birds today.

Ha-HA! Get 'em Walt.
I took the cylinder down to a shop and got a cheap and quick quote, picked up the seals at Hyster and took them to the cylinder shop, and 2 hours later they call me and tell me it's done!!
Wowza.

On my morning walk I pass an elementary school, usually there are long lines of cars coming from both directions to drop off students and a policeman to direct traffic. This morning as he stopped traffic from one direction to let the others turn in, the lead car just sat there. He made all kinds of hand gestures, and 15 seconds or so he gave up and waved the opposite line to go, and walked up to the car. Behind the wheel was a mom with coffee in one hand and smartphone in the other. He tapped on the window and she dropped both coffee and phone. I kept on walking and saw only a smile on his face.
I’m sure the child will have quite a story to relate at the dinner table …
