Beautiful carvings, wish I was closer to see them in person!
I've been busy making a few things but haven't taken pictures
For the last few years, I've been working with a group that restored an old building in our downtown (Romney, WV) which was a farmer's cooperative- feed/seed/hardware, etc. Closed in 2009 but we've completely renovated the front section and opened as an Artist's Cooperative two weeks ago in time for holiday sales. So many of the items in this thread would be wonderful to offer for sale there! We'll finish a classroom in the spring and start holding artist and craft classes there as well.
Have about 30 artists represented there and more joining as we move along. Been an interesting experience and very enjoyable to finally see it open and sales are good so far. We've been told that for a store like this, we may do more than 60% of our sales in the last quarter of the year, will see!
I only have a couple of items in the co-op as our focus is on hand made items and lately, my work has been on the computer controlled router so a bit too modern- everyone does seem willing to let me do some signs and other items that are needed using my modern methods, lol. I did turn 5 ink pens the other day so I could have something on display.
Thanks to all who post in this thread, I've really enjoyed watching the creativity roll in!

Almost forgot to compliment you on the wallhanging, really nice work.

Brings back really bad memories in my past of VP of sales beating down middle mangers not on track to make quarterly quotas-in front of a group of 20 or so others. My first mgmt. meeting, I observed two mgr.s taking hits of Maalox before the meeting started. Bad omen.
That was late 80's, and I would like to think things have changed. But recent news of dishonest Wells Fargo dealings lead me to believe that the same upper management style still exists!

I recall the COO presenting in front of the IT staff(we were an IT provider) when someone asked a "when did you stop beating your wife" type questions about wages. COO lost it, told us we were welcome to leave right then. He used a fine selection of East Coast motivation to intimidate the staff. Funny thing about 6 months later while out on his morning run he had a heart attack and died.
Awesome carvings.

Totally off topic...
Back in the day I worked in a large national consulting practice run by one of these hard chargers. One morning news came in that he died while out jogging before work. The on client site project team stood down till noon, then we were back at it 1 PM. That was a real eye opener for me....

The wife and I have inexplicably become interested in crochet and macrame. I'm currently working on a replacement watch band out of hemp cord, and the wife has been busy crocheting coffee mug cozies and cup sleeves, coasters, and a hot pad sort of thing. At least it keeps the mind off of politics.

We had a people-oriented motivational manager replaced with such a sweetheart. We called him Stevie Stonebreaker. Fatal Coronary at 52 much later. We got together for a minor "Celebration of Death"!
