Asian Script Ads?
Is anyone else seeing Asian scripts? I am on several other forums but haven't seen this. I attached a screen shot.

With all the free adblock software out there, why is anyone seeing ads?

Have you noticed the Chinese ads on other sites?
The ads I see on this site are from google / third parties which are allocated in a bidding process. So a chinese firm wouldn't normally target an english language speaker but perhaps for some reason google thinks you are in asia? or some language setting got reset to chinese?

I don't have an ad-blocker per se, but I keep tracking protection on and don't see ads on this site. I tried turning off the protection for this site, as it is one I frequent, and I would like to help support their fiscal model. Sadly though, the ads proved much to personal and intrusive, and some even managed to launch pop-ups, so protection went back on. Sorry ER!

Most of the Ads on websites are based on your previous searches and website visits. They are populated by DoubleClick or Google Adsense, or a similar marketing company's product.
I will not post the ads I get...

I see Asian script ads too and have no idea why the advertisers believe I can read them. Frankly I don't mind at all, much better than bobbing heads that occasionally pop up.

Yup - dead accurate. You might try deleting cookies....
We are seeing more and more of this as loads of products for sale at places like amazon and newegg are actually being sold from offshore locations. They seem to have pics that are hosted offshore in the ads and when you click, google adds this piece of info to it's assumptions about what kind of content you want to see in the future.
Purging cookies will help.

Yeah, I get how the ads are loaded, but they are usually the same for all sites I visit...but not this one. But only that, they don't seem to be hyperlinked to anything. I do think I need to check my port forwarding (security cameras) to make sure nothing malicious is afoot.
Sent from my mobile device so please excuse grammatical errors.

Never see this on other sites, and I think one of the reasons why I can't visit ER.org at megacorp (during legit break times) as it is 'blocked'.
Why can't ER.org block these scripts?

I almost never see any adds. I use Firefox with Adblock Plus and set cookies to be deleted when Firefox closes. Use Ixquick, Startpage or DuckDuckGo for most searches. Just makes using the internet so much more pleasant. I know sites use advertising to help pay expenses and wish I didn't have to do this. But the ads and tracking have just gotten so annoying, flashy and intrusive, I feel they kind of forced me into it.

The ones I see are a non-latin based character set, don't know what language.

I love those ads in languages I can't read, they are so easy to ignore.

As you all know, I am in Baku. I see adds in Russian for on-line war games (tanks and airplanes) and foreign exchange ads (to play the forex market--what a casino!) in Azerbaijani.
I don't sign in often anymore, so I see all the ads that Firefox lets through.

I don't recall going to any Russian websites, or searches. I do get a lot of
" Young Russian Women want to date you " ad's
