Bogus thread update notice

In addition to the recent spam PM I am receiving forum notifications about a thread update that is clearly spam but, when I check, not there. I assume the posts are being deleted by the ever vigilant and quick to act mods. The thread is this http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...l-44144-5.html

You are correct--and that particular thread had six individual annoying spam postings to it, so you likely were overwhelmed by notifications of these new postings.

I take it the same applies to a post claiming "To see is to believe 250% gains." on the CFP or not? thread...

Exactly. And the 250% gains were probably not believable .

The notifications get sent of course as soon as a new post is made, and unfortunately deleting the spam doesn't recall the notification. The boards have a new strategy to halt most of the spam that's annoyed us the last few days so we hope you won't be getting notifications about these disappearing posts.
