If you want to use a smartphone in place of a laptop, you might consider packing a Bluetooth keyboard. You can pair it with your phone (or tablet), and it helps a lot for writing emails, making posts, etc.

I tried the app. For some reason, it was alerting me to every new posting. It was on-line at all times and drained my battery. Sometimes free is not cheap enough.

I had the same experience with the app. Good concept but poorly implemented. Welcome to software in the 21st century.
