Email notifications stopped on subscribed threads
As the title says, a few days ago I noticed my Email notifications stopped on subscribed threads. Checked my settings and it is still set to get instant email notifications on subscribed threads. Even tried changing it and resetting it, but that didn't work. Checked my spam folder and they are not going there. Restarted my computer, but that didn't work.
Anyone else having this issue or have any ideas. I'm using Yahoo email.
Thanks.

I am on Gmail and have had that issue for about a year now. I get email notifications for threads that I start, and for PMs, but not for threads to which I contribute. My settings are the same as yours.

I seem to be getting all the notifications but this AM they are coming very slowly. Now, 10:12AM, I just got one that was posted at 8:32AM. There have been others noticeably delayed as well. I don't know whether the problem is older than today; I just noticed it.
Edit: I just got a couple that were timely. So .... I dunno. The delay problem is not on my end. My mail reader checks for new mail every 5 minutes.

I subscribed to this thread a few minutes ago and was notified of this latest new post. I don’t know why it works fine for some and not for others. Definitely above my pay grade, but I have moved this thread into the Forum Admin section to see if we can get more technical feedback.

There was a similar thread a few months ago, regarding the newsletter.
https://www.early-retirement.org/forums/f32/why-did-early-retirement-newsletter-stop-coming-115069.html
And it continues as a problem for me for the newsletter, but thread notifications come regularly.
Someone suggested that the problem is Yahoo Mail - thats my mail.
Maybe we should ask everyone with a similer problem if they are using Yahoo.
I might even try switching myself

I get the newsletter email (as well as mails for PMs and threads I've started) but not for subscribed threads I haven't started.

Apparently. Maybe ?
But just in case, I switched my mail to Gmail and we'll see if I start getting the newsletter.

I just received an email notification for this thread. Here's how I achieved that - I'm on a Win10 PC by the way:
While quoting a post, there is a dropdown box below the response box that allows you to set your notification preferences for a particular thread. Mine was set to "No notification", even though my global preference is set to "Instant Notification".
Looks like each thread can have a different notification setting, which is a nice feature, but the default setting should be the one set in the user's Control Panel (CP)...unless I am missing something.

Sorry, I don't understand - do you want notification for EVERY thread ?
Please recheck the notification setting for the threads that you say you are not getting.
It is important that we establish whether Yahoo is the culprit or not.

Yes, for the ones that I have subscribed to - either by commenting or hitting the "Subscribe" button.

FWIW my delayed email problem this morning was on gmail. It may have healed itself though. I haven't noticed it recently.

I have been getting email notification of threads I post in. Now I only look each morning but I seldom use the link in the email, I just come here and click on New Posts. I'm using ATT Yahoo! email. I just looked now and either the threads I am posting in don't have any new posts or I am not getting notifications as I have just 1 email from this morning.
Now how's this? The color scheme here just changed on me when I went from 1 page to the next page in a thread! The color scheme is green, for some reason it just changed to blue. Anyone see that and why would that happen?
ETA - all the threads I have been following on the New Posts list have a different color for the name of the thread because I have read in them or posted in them vs those I never looked at. I just noticed all thread titles are in the same color, it was easy to spot threads I was following when the thread title was a different color than threads I never went to.
2nd ETA - I decided to log off this site and I also cleared my cache. I came back here and the color scheme was green as usual. Great, that fixed it... until I logged in and the color scheme is blue again and no different color for threads I have been in vs not.
