"First unread" goes away after reading several posts ?

"First unread" goes away after reading several posts ?
Seems that the first 10 threads that I've viewed before offer me the "View First Unread" button.

However after about scanning about 10 threads, seems like future threads don't have "First Unread" button - when I am pretty sure that I read the thread before.

I'll try to verify this - but wonder if others see it too. Thanks.
