IE Page Back Slow

IE Page Back Slow
I sometimes find I am getting stuck in a thread and the page back function will not respond, necessitating hitting it numerous times quickly to page back. Not sure if this is a site issue or something is going on with my PC

Yea, I'm not sure but my observation is that this occurs with pages with video ads and banners. I also (imagine?) that is it especially bad with google ads. (I use IE8, Windows XP SP3.)
