Posting Avatar Question

What am I doing wrong?

I have a picture of my cat (with antlers) as my profile pic. For the holiday season I wanted to make that my posting avatar. I saw that it was required to be no larger than the smaller of 80 x 80 pixels, 19.5 KB. With great difficulty I shrunk down the picture to 70 x 70 pixels, 19 KB. It is at the very lowest quality setting that I can do with Photoshop Elements. It shows on the file list as being 19 KB and it is 70 x 70. I keep trying to upload it and keep being told that it failed.

Any ideas? (I just want a cat pic with antlers for the holiday season). Sigh.

We have a tech snafu with avatar image uploads and are working to resolve this. If the image is within parameters as noted it should work (once we fix the underlying issue). Please try again at the end of the day....
