Replying to old thread cutoff

I was going to update an old thread that I started, but was met with a message that the thread was 401 days old and I can no longer reply. What is the actual cut-off date for a thread? Thought it better to reply to an old one with all the original information on it than start a new thread to update an existing old one.

I looked at one of my old threads and it stated the following with a box next to it that you can check. It was close to the bottom of the page......

I am aware that this Thread is rather old but I still want to make a reply.

Thanks for that. I went back and saw that box at the bottom of the page. Problem solved. Cheers!
