Search function from Android

When using an Android tablet, I am not able to use the search function. Anyone else have this problem? Using Firefox as my browser.

What happens when you try to search? Do you get an error message? Do you get a blank screen, etc?

When I select the search function, the search screen comes up, but when I start typing, it closes. It does work when I uuse Google Chrome browser, just not with Firefox.
