Suddenly Can't See Avatars/Embedded pics
I've looked through FAQs, User CP, etc. to see if I've changed something around. So far, don't understand why I suddenly can't see avatars and embedded pictures. I wonder if I've pushed a wrong button when trying to get my e-mail notification to work again (which I haven't so far).
Thanks,
Koolau

FWIW, it happened at exactly 10:00 PM MDT last night. I used the UserCP to check my subscribed threads and the first one I read was fine, the second had about half the Avatars missing and in the third one I opened they were all missing.
In any event, thank you for starting this thread, I had convinced myself it was a problem on my end (like I did with the e-mail notification thing) and was about to start tearing things apart looking for a fix.

Ditto this AM - running Firefox BTW. Just fired up MSN Internet explorer and get red x's in place of avatars also. IE does show the Google feedback image at the top of the page, FWIW.

"Google Feedback Image"? What is that? (Is it the "Work Less, Live More"
begathon solicitation?)

I'm running Firefox also, but I'm not seeing any red x's. I get a hyperlink that says "Janet H's Avatar" which takes me to the users profile page.

True, that's what I see, but I see Leonidas' avatar. Can't see HaHa's avatar. So that leads me to believe at least these two have offended the Avatar gods

Maybe they forgot to appease them? Avatar gods are extremely vain and need regular strokes and swag
If you are seeing some avatars and not others - you have some images cached. Hit F5 to see the real (avatar free) view. This is undoubtedly a server/indexing issue and not a problem with your system. We'll tinker with it today

Okay, so I have made the proper obiesence to the gods and now all the avatars are gone -- except for mine, of course.

Yeah, well. I missed out on the picture of Nord's bunny. I'm sure your bikini is lovely, but after Nord's long message about the rabbit, was eager to see what it looked like.

Lack of clarity of expression on my part. IE shows red x's where Firefox shows "mystery contestant's avatar". Firefox doesn't deign to show the Google Feedback image, AKA ad, at the top of the page. ever. IE does, even in these times when avatars and other images are not shown.
