"We have disabled your emails"

I got this message today -- actually, two duplicate messages.

I get no indication that my emails have actually been disabled -- in fact, I was notified by email of a new post in a thread to which I was subscribed about 45 minutes ago.

Right. It’s been reported to the help desk and is also being discussed in the Google outage thread, here https://www.early-retirement.org/for...ge-106896.html

This is related to the recent gmail outages (mail sent to gmail addresses was bouncing yesterday and again last night). We've reset mail preferences on accounts and so you can ignore this notice.

That notice is sent (automatically) from my account when mail is bounced back so members can update as needed - this usually happens when someone deprecates an old e-mail address but neglects to update their forum account. The gmail failure triggered these alerts unfortunately.

This happened to me shortly after I joined. I think it said something about a report of spam from from my email. I didn't really care so I just let it be
