Why Doesn't My Profile Picture Update?

Recently, I decided to change my profile picture.

One update worked okay and I have that picture as my new avatar. But the second update only worked part way (see the attachment). The update shows as the profile when pulled up using the control panel but has the prior avatar on posts and threads.

I gave the update a few days already in case there was a delay before updates.

One is your profile pic, but your avatar (the image that appears alongside your posts) is a separate thing. I learned that one the hard way too.

Yep - what Aerides says.

Your profile picture is what is seen if someone clicks on your user name and goes to your profile page. This isn't seen by many folks.

(In my case my profile pic is a view of Mt. Etna from Riposto Harbor)

Your avatar is what shows on everyone of your posts....

(In my case it's a pic of Katherine Hepburn.)

Hope this helps

Thank you .

I was using the two interchangeably but now I see the light that there actually is one place to update for each.
