Consistant Annual Growth fails a lot ???

Wondering if I'm doing something odd... my inputs succeed 100% using Mixed Portfolio; but fail with reasonable inputs to Consistant Annual Growth, like 6% for equities and 4% for fixed.

In fact I had to enter 200% to make it succeed. Is the program incorrectly treating that input box as a number instead of a percent to be added to 1 to get the annual multiplier?

And does the year in which Consistant Annual Growth fails actually tell you exactly how many years it lasts? Or the average/median?

It seems to me that the usual starting point for asset allocation is to find the lowest average "consistant" rate (which must be the least volatile) which succeeds.

That particular feature appears to not be working correctly. See this thread: http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...-of-47116.html
