Anyone know if it's possible to get a catastrophic healthcare policy? I know Washington is working on healthcare right now and maybe something will come of that but in the meantime this almost $500 dollars a month just for me is killing us. Dw has a policy that is part of her retirement package and it's better but going up at a fast clip. Thanks for any replies.

depending upon your state, these may or may not be less expensive. It depends if your state has the cat policies priced based on age. In my state they are priced by age... thus no real reason to use them over a bronze plan.

+1 In most states, the savings are not significant enough to provide any relief. Vermont and NY are the only states that do not age rate health insurance to my knowledge. But it only take a little effort to check on the impact in your state via healthsherpa.com
