Most polypectomies go fine if there is a polyp, but there are perforations and other complications that may require fairly aggressive follow-up care. The specimen goes to a pathology lab and much depends on what that shows. Future review of the specimen may require that the actual slides be sent to the reviewer, and this is something that not all pathology departments like to do.

So it will probably go just fine since most are normal. But this is not like getting a crown on your tooth, so be aware of the "what if's."

Having seen a failed bungie jumping setup in mexico, and without any medical knowledge whatsoever, this just sounds like a bad idea.

CFB, my understanding is that they wouldn't be doing the colonoscopy while bungee jumping. We used to do it that way, but the neighbors complained, so we stopped.

I do have a brief experience with this kind of thing - sitting on the beach in Puerto Vallarta when a parasailing boat dropped a tourist on top of a restaurant rather than on the beach. She tumbled off the roof. I ran over to help and when the Mexican EMT service arrived they wanted to move her to a gurney. She complained of tingling in her arms, not good. No one else spoke English but the poor lady and me, but I did manage to convince them she needed a neck collar. They didn't have one. I rigged one up with a donated beach towel held firmly in place by ..... a small bungee cord.

It certainly speeds up the removal of the colonoscope...
