It is possible that an amateur science writer (Teischolz) and a professional science journalist (Taubes) are getting it right while the vast majority of primary researchers are getting it wrong:

But my money is on the folks doing the actual work, not the journalists cherry picking and misrepresenting their results.

It is recommended to keep saturated fat to <10% of total calories. So, for example, a daily intake of 2000 total calories (okay, kcal...) gives 200 calories from sat fat, which, at 9cal/g, gives 22g of sat fat, equivalent to three burgers.
