Is anyone retired (early)....and had to get their own health insurance for their family? I’m wondering if Florida offers it and the costs involved (monthly premium)

There are ACA policies available across Florida, specific availability is by zip code. You can use the Healthcare.Gov plan finder to identify the offerings available in your zip code. https://finder.healthcare.gov/

This will also give you an estimate of the unsubsidized cost. Premium assistance is available, depending on income.

Below is the site which can be used for the compilation of what is included in net income in order to calculate your MAGI, which is the subsidy version of AGI.

We use Florida Blue on the marketplace and if you keep your MAGI below 150% of the poverty level, one can receive quite large subsidies.

I have had a grandfathered BCBS policy for at least 20 years.
I just received notice today that the premium is going up 12%.
This health insurance situation is pissing me off. I had 18% to 24% increases 3 years in a row when Obamacare started. It just never stops!

Depending upon your situation, a nonqualified plan may be more attractive than anything on the marketplace. We are quite happy with plans from Farm Bureau (only became a member for this).
