LTC insurance for parents?

I just had a thought.
My parents are getting older, and I was thinking that when they get to the point where their health starts going and/or they require more frequent visits to the hospital, in-home care, etc -- who would pay for that?

I had the thought of trying to hedge against those costs by possibly buying long term care insurance now, while its still cheaper (right?).

Any ideas or suggestions?
