I received a snail mail today, on hospital stationery, offering a mobile health screening.

$139 for:
Stroke / Carotid Artery Screening
Atrial Fibrillation Heart Rhythm Test
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening
Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening

From these folks:
Preventive Health Screening Services | Life Line Screening

Good idea? Bad idea?

I'm 57 and have never had any of the above screenings.

I have yearly physicals. I asked my Dr. about these MRI artery and heart scans. He was not a proponent of them. He said that if I had symptoms that warrented these tests, then we would do them. Otherwise they were just a way to 'make' money for those testing firms.
I had seen one touted by Oprah a while back. That caused a run on these tests and also more 'testing facilities' to be opened.
I think the bottom line is that you should have regular physicals at our age, do what your Dr. tells you to do, and save your money for other things.

Thank you, I'd forgotten about that.

I do find it interesting that the 'invitation' was on hospital stationery.
Hospitals like that high-profit, cash, deadbeats need not apply business.
