It's funny, at the time I wasn't scared. Just knew I needed to get to the hospital ASAP. DH on the other hand, was a mess. I walked into the family room and said "I need to go to the emergency room". He knew something was serious cause it's like pulling teeth to get me to the doctor for anything other than annual preventative stuff. I believe the body can heal itself of many things, but that vision thing sure got my attention!

Blame histamines, wines are naturally loaded with them. Take an antihistamine but I don't encourage taking drugs to enjoy another.
You can blame sulfites if you get headaches from dried fruit like apricots or prunes, more sulfites there than in wine.
More sulfites in white wine than red wine although the amount added is ph related. But folks don't like brownish white wine, hence more sulfites. But they are usually 50-70 parts per MILLION.
