I love a good nap! I haven’t had one in a while, but I might start up again. I would sleep for one to two hours between 2:00 and 5:00. I’ve always felt better after a good nap.

I came across this [ https://www.worldsleepchampionships.com/ ]
Quote:
The flagship tournament of Earth’s hottest new sport, Sleep Racing, where the world’s best sleeper is crowned the World Sleep Champion. Over two weeks (19th Oct - 1st Nov), the world’s best sleepers will battle it out in a series of round robin and elimination match ups. After 60+ hours of intensely sleepy competition, your champion will be announced - strap yourselves in for an endurance event like no other.

I came across it after it had started, so couldn't join. And due to an equipment failure, I would have been thrown out of the competition anyway (my ouraring's charger failed).
By the way "worldnapchampionships.com" is available

Many people believe "the sixth hour" is a reference to noontime since noon is situated about six hours after dawn. That's why siesta is now defined as "a midday or afternoon nap or rest."

Most Sundays I am on my bike well before sunrise. Upon return, I take a shower, eat a little breakfast, then nap for 20-30 minutes.

Add a wake-up cuppa joe, and you could potentially enjoy three kinds all in the same afternoon!

A sign at a restaurant I had lunch at last winter: "I've Reached the Age Where Happy Hour is Taking a Nap"

I often have trouble sleeping at night. In the summers, we usually get up around 4:30 to walk the pups before the Phoenix heat makes it impossible. When I haven’t slept well, sometimes I’ll take a 30-45 minute rest round 10:30 in the morning, but rarely fall asleep. If I take an afternoon nap, and really sleep, I won’t sleep again that night. So if I feel I need a rest, its better if I do it in the late morning. But, I try not to, so that I get a better sleep at night.

I'm 53 and am still working full time and take a nap for 30 minutes or an hour every day. I have a meeting placed on my calendar and use that. I don't take lunch, so works out well. I can't wait to retire so I can bump it up to 90 minutes.

My dad took a 1-2 hour nap every afternoon for as long as I can remember. He only made to 103 so about 20 years ago decided to follow the obviously sage example.

Retirement goal: Learn How to Nap!
I’m 64 and I rarely nap...maybe once or twice a year.
Mostly because I don’t wake up till hours have passed and that becomes disruptive.
Plus I do continue to work part time as a therapist and there are acute demands during these virus challenged times. So part time has morphed into a hodgepodge nearly full time schedule.
So....going to have to slow down one of these days, lol

Yep, every day
66 YO, RE for 10 years, up daily between 330 & 4am. I work out hard for a couple hours daily, then run out of gas around noon and try to nap for an hour. Half the time I end up just reading for awhile, but that’s fine. That hour of calm, asleep or not, is sacrosanct. Never miss it.
