Why some people don't get the flu

I found the topic of this article interesting but the outcome of the study was fluff IMHO (the person who doesn't get sick has high levels of antioxidents which protects them). Basically they don't know exactly why some of us never get sick.

I'm in the lucky group (I've never had the flu and never had a flu shot). Until six months ago my eating habits were awful and I didn't take vitamins regularly. I attribute my health to my genes from dad's side of the family.

I think the antioxidents have some role (mom said, to eat your fruits and vegetables). But other factors may play a bigger part. Probably in order of importance:

1) keep hands washed

2) stay away from airborne contamination (others coughing, sneezing)

3) get a good nights sleep (immune system)

4) eat your fruits and vegetables

5) exercise

Probably others I forgot.

Ring out your dishcloth and let it dry. This single action should improve your health if it is always wet.

I've never had a case of the flu since I died ...

These types of "studies" are good for one thing (similar to the use of a corn cob, or a sheet from a Sears catalogue, in an outhouse, IMHO)...

And since it comes from MSNBC (via a personal contributor), may I say more (without getting policical?)

17 people measured as a "universe" in statistical sampling?
