Double Digit Raise in Pay!

Good times for dividend investors. Not so good for a lot of the people who work at these companies, many of whom have had their pay frozen or stuck on 1-2% raises for at least 6-7 years in many cases. It just doesn't pay to w*rk any more -- which is why I'm fortunate we were able to invest a lot of my paychecks before I got whacked last year.

So true! From it's peak in 2008, the S&P 500 dividend dropped about 20% (since totally recovered plus another 20%). For someone over 50 working in the private sector, the risk of getting "whacked" and having your salary drop to zero is significantly higher.
